Why did you decide to call your company Lalee Kids?
Lalee is an anagram of my daughter’s name. And it is also the name of a lullaby that my mother used to sing to me when I was little. Lalee is inspired by my mother and daughter in more ways than one.
What does sustainability mean to Lalee Kids?
Lalee Kids is committed to using custom woven handloom fabrics that conserve energy and sustain traditional forms of weaving. The yarn used for weaving is certified organic cotton (certificate available on request) as much as possible and is dyed using azo-free dyes that are less harsh on the environment (and your child's skin). I'm proud to partner with a community in South India that helps produce these fabrics in a socially and environmentally responsible way.
What kind of fabrics are Lalee’s clothes made from?
Lalee’s clothes are made from custom woven fabrics using an organic cotton blend and azo-free dyes. Lalee's fabrics are modern, artisanal and one of a kind.
There are irregularities in the color and weave of the fabric, does that mean it’s defective?
This a feature, not a bug! Since handloom fabrics are crafted by hand in every step of production, it is typical to see variations and irregularities that add to the beautiful texture of the fabric.
Do you recommend any specific care for Lalee’s clothes?
Lalee clothes will become softer with each wash with proper care. I recommend either hand washing or machine washing on delicate cycle with mild detergents. Please don’t bleach or tumble dry the clothes. It is best to line dry the clothes away from sunlight and iron on warm setting if needed.
What is your refund policy?
Are you open to collaborating with other makers?
Absolutely! Hit me up with your ideas!
